Hamilton Wins 2A Division I State Championship

The Hamilton Bulldogs won their first football state championship with a 21-7 victory over Joaquin Wednesday in the 2A Division I title game Wednesday at AT&T Stadium.

Joaquin’s wing T offense took the ball down the field for a touchdown in its first offensive possession of the game, but Hamilton’s defense kept them out of the end zone for the rest of the game.

Hamilton came up with three second-half fumble recoveries to help shut put the game away.

Hamilton scored on its first possession to tie the game, then went ahead on a touchdown midway through the second quarter.

The Bulldogs added their final score early in the third quarter after a pair of long pass receptions put them inside the 10.

Hamilton’s defense then came up with the big plays to shut down Joaquin the rest of the way.
