Aledo Freshmen Orange shut out Crowley JV, 48-0

Aledo running back Coy Flowers scored on a 22-yard punt return and touchdown runs of 18 and 32 yards to lead the Aledo Freshmen Orange Team in Thursday’s 48-0 victory over the Crowley JV.

The Bearcats got off to a quick start led 21-0 before Crowley got a first down.

Crowley’s first punt went straight up and landed at the line of scrimmage. However, Crowley never downed the ball and started walking off the field. Flowers then ran up and scooped up the ball and returned it for the TD to give Aledo a 7-0 lead just two minutes into the game.

The first time the Aledo offense got the ball, the Bearcats went 51 yards on seven plays with quarterback Ethan Hodo hitting Brett Barclay for a 27-yard TD pass. Hodo completed was 4-7-0 for 120 yards and two touchdowns, all in the first half.

Hodo also had a 64-yard TD pass to Caden Hix, while Benton McElree and Kaden McCown had TD runs to help the Bearcats jump out the a 34-0 halftime lead.

Flowers led Aledo in rushing with 84 yards on 11 carries, with both of his TD runs coming in the second half.

The Bearcats also got an interception from Adrian Fuller.

A – Kaden McCown 5 run (Crawford kick) 34-0

3rd Quarter

A – Flowers 18 run (Crawford kick) 41-0

4th Quarter

A – Flowers 32 run (Crawford kick) 48-0

Freshmen Black Fall to Arlington Heights, 13-12

The Freshmen Black team scored two second-half touchdowns to take a late 12-7 lead, but Arlington Heights got a 21-yard TD run with 23 seconds left in the game to pull out the victory.
