Aledo Sweeps Wichita Falls, Wins District

The Ladycats get a home-match sweep of Wichita Falls to finish tied for the District 5-5A championship at 9-1. Aledo will have the top seed heading into the playoffs.

Aledo dominated Tuesday’s match against Wichita Falls, winning the opening set 25-4. Aledo jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the first set on senior night with senior Averie Riser serving. The Coyotes did not score off of their serve in the opening set.

Aledo completed the sweep by taking set two 25-12 and set three 25-15.

The chance to win district against Wichita Falls came because of the Ladycats’ hard-fought sweep at Wichita Falls Rider on Friday to avenge their only district loss of the season. Aledo beat Rider 25-21, 29-27 and 25-22 on the road after losing in three sets to Rider at home earlier this month.
