Aledo JV Orange shuts out Burleson

Caleb Pope had a pair of short touchdown runs and Colten McCoy kicked a 24-yard field goal and five extra points to lead the Aledo JV Orange team to s 38-0 victory over Burleson Thursday at Bearcat Stadium.

Aledo also got touchdown runs from Ryan Cox, Ryan Jones and Austin Keith.

The Bearcat defense forced Burleson to turn the ball over on downs, including the first three times the Elks had the ball. Burleson managed just 50 total yards of offense in the game, 44 rushing yards and 16 passing yards.

Aledo rushed the ball for 200 yards with six different players gaining yards on the ground. Tanner Wheaton led the way with 49 yards, while Cox added 45 yards. Quarterback Jones rushed for 32 yards and threw for 37 yards. Keith carried the ball twice out of the wildcat formation for 36 yards and Pope had 25 yards.
