Unlike last season’s fan-friendly schedule that had the Aledo football team open the season with four straight home games and six home games on the season, the 2018 schedule has the Bearcats open the season with three consecutive road games and only four home games on the season.
Aledo opens the season on Aug. 31 at Denton Guyer, a 6A team that Dave Campbell’s Texas Football ranks No. 22 in the state in their annual preseason magazine. The magazine also ranks Aledo as the state’s best 5A Divison II team in the state.
After that game, Aledo will travel to Shreveport, La., for a game against Bentonville, Ark., on Sat., Sept. 8. Bentonville was a state finalist in Arkansas’ 7A last season, while Aledo was a state finalist in 5A Division II here in Texas.
The Bearcats then open district play with a road game at Burleson Centennial on Sept. 14. After an open date on Sept 21, the Bearcats have their home opener Sept. 28 when they host Everman in a district game.
