Saginaw quarterback Roman Morales threw for one touchdown and ran for another as the Rough Riders found an offensive rhythm in the second half of Friday’s 26-13 victory at Brewer.
The first half finished in a 6-6 tie, but Saginaw scored three touchdowns in the second half to improve to 1-0 on the season. The Rough Riders didn’t win their first game last year until the final game of the season.
Morales thew a long TD pass early in the third quarter then capped another drive with a short touchdown run. The Saginaw defense protected the lead by coming up with two turnovers late in the game.
