The Aledo Bearcats took a 27-6 bi-district playoff victory over Kileen Shoemaker Thursday at home despite turning the ball over four times, including twice in the first three minutes of the game. With a light rain falling for most of the game and the turf wet from the day-long rain, Aledo fumbled the ball five times in their first seven plays, losing two of them. However, the Aledo defense smothered Shoemaker all game long. The Bearcat offense got moving on their third possession and Davhon Keys capped the 65 yard drive with a 1-yard TD run with 2:51 left in the first quarter. Aledo added an 8 yard touchdown from from quarterback Hauss Hejny and a Hawk Patrick-Daniels TD run in the second quarter to open up a 21-0 lead. Patrick-Daniels finished with 145 yards on 23 carries, filling in for Raycine Guillory. Aledo pushed the lead to 27-0 with12-yard touchdown run by Hejny in the third quarter. Hejny left the game after three quarters. With the win, Aledo will meet Lubbock Cooper next Friday night in Wichita Falls.
