Aledo JV Orange quarterback Nash McElree overcame an early interception to toss a pair of touchdown passes to lead the Bearcats to a 23-8 home victory against Denton Guyer.
Guyer jumped out to an early 8-0 lead when the interception was returned for a touchdown, but Aledo’s defense did not allow Guyer to score the rest of the game.
McElree tossed a 12-yard TD pass to Lamel Swanson and a 31-yard touchdown to Carson Adolph.
Lawson Stewart had Aledo’s first touchdown on a 3-yard run. Stewart also tackled a Guyer running back in the endzone for a safety.
JV Black rolled to an easy 37-6 victory in the first game.
In the second half of that game, Roman Jefferies had a pair of touchdown receptions (17 yards and 24 yards) from quarterback Christian Sandavol. Aledo also had a 66-yard touchdown run from Brady Powell.
