Nathalie Touchet threw a complete-game shutout with seven srikeouts to help Aledo take a 6-0 District 5-5A victory over Brewer in a Wednesday afternoon game at Ladycat Field.
Aledo improves to 16-4-1 and 4-0 in district play.
The Ladycats scored in every inning but one as they pounded out 13 hits in the game.
Texas Ray, who had three hits including a pair of doubles, had a 2-run double in the bottom of the first inning to give Aledo an early lead. Freshman Delaney also had three hits. Addie Perry, Claire Byars and Regan Davis each had two hits.
Perry had an RBI single in the second inning to make it 3-0. Rosser’s RBI single in the fourth made it 4-0. Davis had an RBI single in the fifth and Presley Hull had an RBI in the sixth. Brewer kept it close by not committing an error and keeping Aledo’s short game in check. The Ladycats left 8 runners on base.
Aledo right fielder Maddy Jarvis had a diving catch to rob on Brewer player of a hit, then had a good running catch in foul territory.
Aledo second baseman Rosser and shortstop Ana Flores kept Brewer off the scoreboard with one out in the fifth with a runner on third by turning a double play.
Touchet improved to 8-0 on the season. Her ERA is 0.31 and she has 71 strikeouts on the season.
The Ladycats have the rest of spring break off before returning to district action Tuesday with a game at Azle before returning home Friday, March 24 to host Granbury.
