Christian Life Preparatory hit a three-point shot with 13 seconds left in the game to take a 55-52 victory over the Bethesda Christian School Lions Thursday in a key TAPPS 2A District 2 game.
Bethesda had tied the game with a three-pointer with 38 seconds left in the game.
The Lions came out hot and jumped out to an early 7-0 lead. The Knights stormed back to take an 11-10 lead with 3:06 left in the first quarter before the Lions closed out the quarter on an 11-4 run to lead 21-15 after one quarter.
However, the Knights switched from a zone to man defense to take away Bethesda’s open looks from outside and started to slow down Bethesda’s offense. The game was tied at 32-32 at halftime.
Bethesda led 43-41 after three quarters but got outscored 14-9 in the fourth quarter.
