Wichita Falls Rider came storming back from a 20-12 deficit in set one to win it 27-25 then built on that momentum to take the match in four sets to forge a first place tie in District 5-5A with one match left in the district schedule.
Aledo, which entered the match with a 9-game win streak and had not lost a set in the first 8 district matches, lost 27-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-14.
The Ladycats and Rider are now both 18-4 on the season and 8-1 in District 5-5A.
Aledo seemed to be headed to a win in the first set when it opened up a 20-12 lead. However, Rider went on a 11-3 run to pull even at 23-23.
Aledo had two chances to claim victory in the first set when it led 24-23 and 25-24. However, Rider was able to close out the set with a 3-0 run.
Rider also used a late scoring run to claim the second set. After Aledo took a 21-20 lead, Rider ripped off a 5-0 run to win the set.
Aledo closes district play Friday at Wichita Falls, while Rider has a home match against Brewer.
