Brock Rolls Past Bushland, 55-7

The top-ranked 3-A Divison I Brock Eagles got four touchdown runs from Cash Jones as the Eagles ran away from 15th ranked Bushland in Friday’s neutral-site 55-7 victory.

The Falcons, who went 12-1 last season, were behind 21-0 before they managed to get a first down against the Brock defense. Bushland’s lone touchdown came after Brock scored on its opening possession of the second half to make it 42-0.

Jones opened the scoring with a 20-yard TD run on Brock’s first possession. Jones bounced off several Bushland defenders near the line of scrimmage then ran away from the pack of defenders to score with 10:30 left in the first quarter.

Jones also had TD runs of 54, 28 and 90 yards. Jones had 11 carries for 242 yards in the game.

Brock also got big performances from sophomore Chris Palfreeman and quarterback Jaxon Gleaton.

Palfreeman had a 2-yard TD run and a pair of long TD receptions from Gleaton. Palfreeman twice got behind the Bushland secondary and Gleaton threw TD passes of 73 and 59 yards. Gleaton also had a 1-yard TD run.

Defensive back Luke Dillingham had an interception that set up Brock’s second touchdown.
