Bearcats Roll Past Azle to Open Tournament

Freshman midfielder Clay Murador scored a pair of goals as Aledo remained unbeaten by shutting out Azle 4-0 to open the Moritz-Kia Tournament of Champions Thursday at Bearcat Stadium.

Aledo also got goals from Dylan Dobransky and Mico Little.

Murador opened the scoring less than a minute into the game when he tapped in the ball after a scramble in front of the goal.

Dobransky made it 2-0 with a header 10:10 left in the first half.

Murador scored his second goal on a free-kick play from just outside the penalty area.

Little closed the scoring with a penalty kick with 7:59 left in the game.

Goalie Ryland Yates posted the shut out.

The Bearcats will play Eaton High School in the tournament semifinals at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The game times have been moved up three hours in an attempt to beat the storms that will be moving into the area.

The Aledo girls will play their semifinal at 9 a.m. at Bearcat Stadium.

The Varsity Girls black team will play at 10:30 a.m. on the freshman field. The JV girls will play at noon at Bearcat Stadium and the JV boys will play at 1:30 p.m. at Bearcat Stadium.
