Aledo rolls to 77-7 win over Cleburne

Aledo showed off some big-play offense in its 77-7 victory over Cleburne Friday as the district champs finished the regular season 10-0, 7-0 in District 5 5A Division II.

The Bearcats opened the game by scoring 42 points in the opening 12:07 of the game and needed just 12 offensive plays to score their first six touchdowns.

In that opening offensive onslaught, running back Ryan Williams had three carries for 73 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi 4-6 for 89 yards and two touchdowns. One of those incomplete passes was a dropped pass to looked to be a 33-yard TD pass.

Brian Fleming had a 27-yard TD reception and he returned the second half kickoff for a touchdown.

Connor Smith also had a pair of TD runs in the second half.

Also scoring for Aledo were Hauss Hejny, Jason Llewellyn, Sammy Steffe, Jacob DeLeon and Dalton Rapp.

Aledo will meet Hillcrest, the fouth-place team in District 6 5A Division II next week in the playoffs. The Bearcats will host Dallas Hillcrest at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bearcat Stadium.
