Bearcat Baseball Team Opens District with 8-1 Victory

The Aledo baseball team opened District 4-5A play with an 8-1 victory over Wichita Falls Tuesday behind the the pitching of Jaden Ard, who struck out 11 while allowing only three hits.

The Bearcats scored in five of the six innings they hit. Jake Bishop had two of Aledo’s seven hits and he had a 2-run sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.

Nathan Fingar had a double and a pair of RBIs. Bishop and Dylan Mach each scored a pair of runs.

Aledo scored one in the first inning, three in the second, one in the third and fifth innings and two in the sixth.

The Bearcats continue district play next Tuesday with a game at Abilene Wylie.
