Ladycats Top Granbury, 10-1

ALEDO – The Ladycats overcame a slow start Friday against Granbury, falling behind 1-0 through two and a half innings. However, the Aledo bats came alive in the third as the Ladycats pounded out 11 hits over their final four at-bats to take a 10-1 victory over Granbury.

Aledo got six hits in the bottom of the third when the Ladycats pushed across five runs. The rally started with infield singles from Reagan Davis, Addie Perry and Claire Byars, but the big hit was a line drive double in the gap between center and right by Texas Ray that drove in three runs. Maddy Jarvis also had an RBI single in the inning.

The Ladycats scored two in the fourth, two in the fifth and one run in the six inning.

Nathalie Touchet tossed a two hitter, striking out eight and walking only one.

Aledo improved to 18-4-1 with the victory and 6-0 in District 5-5A, halfway through the district schedule.

Perry, Byars, Jarvis and Davis each had a pair of hits for Aledo, while Ray had 4 RBI. Presley Hull also had two RBI, which came on her fourth-inning double.

Aledo starts the second half of district play next week with a pair of away games against Wichita Falls Rider and Northwest.
