Bearcats Cage The Cougars, 60-14

One week after The Colony shocked Denton Ryan, Aledo traveled to The Colony to take on the team tied for third place in District 3-5AI standings.

Aledo ran away from The Colony, 60-14, gaining more than 500 yards of offense.

Quarterback Hauss Hejny ran for three touchdowns and passed for another TD. Hejny completed 7 of 12 passes for 161 yards and he ran the ball five times for 72 yards.

Raycine Guillory got Aledo on the board first with a 10-yard run. Gillory finished with 10 carries for 78 yards.

Aledo trailed 7-6 for just of few seconds of game time. Aven Lawrence returned the kick 87 yards for a touchdown after the Cougars score to put the Bearcats in the lad for good.

In the second quarter, Hejny threw a 85 yard TD pass to Trace Clarkson and he had touchdown runs of 11 and 22 yards to make it 32-7 at halftime. Hejny’s 20 yard run in the third quarter made it 39-0, then the Bearcat reserves put 21 points on the board in less to two quarters, an impressive showing since Ryan could only score 20 points against The Colony in last weeks game.

Kaden Winkfield had TD runs of 7 and 27 yards. Cole Plumbley closed out Aledo’s scoring with a 3-yard run.

Aledo has a short week before playing winless South Hills 7 p.m. Thursday at Clark Stadium in Fort Worth.
