Ladycats rally for 55-47 victory over O.D. Wyatt

The Aledo Ladycats roared back from the 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter by outscoring Wyatt 24-11 in the final frame of Tuesday’s 55-47 victory at Aledo.

After the game was tied at 11-11 late in the first quarter, Wyatt went on a 14-0 scoring run to make it 25-11 with 4 minutes left in the second quarter.

By the end of the third quarter, the Lady Cats had trimmed that 14-point deficit in half as they trailed 38-31 entering the final frame but fell behind 45-33 early in the fourth quarter. But the Lady Cats didn’t quit.

In the second half, Aledo started getting some easy put backs from their front court to go along with the 18 points they got from senior guard Riley Sale.

The Ladycats got 15 points and 11 rebounds from 6-4 post Maddie Shumway and 12 points and 11 rebounds from 6-1 sophomore guard Audrey Pearce.

Aledo was in the double bonus early in the fourth quarter and the Ladycats made O.D. Wyatt pay as they hit a number of free throws down the stretch.

The Ladycats’ record improves to 5-5, while Wyatt drops to 7-2.
