Llewellyn’s 3 TD passes led Aledo Freshman Orange to 35-6 win over Burleson

Aledo Freshman Orange quarterback Jason Llewellyn threw TD pass of 73, 29 and 28 yards to led the Bearcats to a 35-6 victory over Burleson.

Llewellyn completed six of seven passes for 166 yards.

The Bearcats also had a 17-yard TD run from Sammy Steffe and a 97-yard interception return from Taylon Kessler.

Steffe opened the scoring for Aledo as the Bearcats needed just three plays to go 75-yards on their opening drive. Steffe had a 50-yard run to open the drive. Steffe led the Bearcats with 99 yards on six carries.

Llewellyn found Cooper Hegi behind the Burleson defense for a 73-yard TD pass in the second quarter to make it 14-0. The Bearcats made it 21-0 just 22 seconds left in the first half when Llewellyn threw a 29-yard pass to Stanton Smith.

Jayden Lindley had an interception in the third quarter to stop a Burleson drive. The Elks looked like they may get on the scoreboard late in the third quarter when they drove inside the Aledo 10. But Kessler intercepted a Burleson pass at the 3 and returned it 97 yards to make it 28-0 when he added the PAT kick.

Aledo’s final score came on Llewellyn’s 28-yard pass to Lindley.
