McKean Tosses 1-Hitter to Lead Ladycats

Taylor McKean pitched a 1-hitter with nine strikeouts Friday to lead the Aledo Ladycats to a 14-0 District 5-5A victory over Saginaw.

Delaney Rosser, Presley Hull, Texas Ray and Ana Flores each had two RBI for the Ladycats. Reagan Davis, who had a triple and a double, scored three runs.

The Ladycats jumped to a quick 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Davis led off the game with a triple to right. Claire Byars then walked and Rosser tripled in two runs. Hull hit a sacrifice fly to score Rosser to make it 3-0. Aledo’s fourth run was unearned, and when Brenlee Gonzales scored on an error.

Davis doubled to start the Aledo second inning then stole second and scored on a sac fly by Byars to make it 5-0.

Aledo added six runs in the third and three in the fifth to improve to 15-4-1, 3-0 in district play. The Ladycats have outscored their three district opponents 42-1.

Anely Paz had Saginaw’s only hit in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Aledo will host Brewer at 2 p.m. Wednesday in its only game during spring break.
