Aledo rolls past Kimball, 77-7

Aledo quarterback Jake Bishop completed all 14 of his passes for 290 yards and four touchdowns as the Bearcats opened up the 2019 playoff season with a 77-7 victory over Dallas Kimball.

Bishop wasn’t the only Bearcat to put up impressive numbers Friday night in the 5A Division II bi-district playoff game at Bearcat Stadium.

Receiver Jo Jo Earle caught six passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns. He also had several long kick and put returns to set up Aledo touchdowns.

Jase McClellan, who only played in the first half, had a pair of TD runs and finished with 89 yards on 12 carries.

Cornerback DeMarco Roberts intercepted a pass, blocked a field goal attempt and returned the kick that he blocked for 65 yards to score on the last play of the first half.

Back up running back Jeremiah James rushed for 140 yards and scored two touchdowns, all in the second half.

The No. 1-ranked Bearcats (10-1) will face Royse City, a 42-21 winner over Lucas Lovejoy, next week.
