Aledo Freshmen Teams Shut Out Midlothian

The Aledo freshmen football teams both played in low-scoring, defensive slut fests Thursday against Midlothian.

The Bearcat Freshman Orange team overcame a first half without a first down to take an 8-0 victory over the Panthers. The Freshman Black team finished in a scoreless tie.

The Orange team ran just nine offense plays in the first half but the team’s defense kept Midlothian off the scoreboard.

The Aledo defense came up with two fumble recoveries and two interceptions in the game.

Aledo’s offense got going at the start of the second half when running back Ryan Cox ripped off a 40-yard run.

The Bearcats got on the board when quarterback Brant Hayden threw a 10-yard pass to Kameran Jordan midway through the third quarter. Hayden then ran in the two-point conversion.
