8th Grade Football Teams Shut Out Joshua Nichols

The Aledo Middle School 8th grade A and B teams both shut out Joshua Nichols Tuesday at home.

The A team rolled to a 43-0 victory, while the B team won 48-0.

The A team rotated quarterbacks against Nichols, but it didn’t matter who was taking the snaps, the offense rolled to quick touchdowns.

The A team defense did not allow a first down against the Owls and came up with several turnovers.

On the fourth play of the game the defense came up with a big play with a partially blocked punt to give the offense the ball at the Joshua 6 yard line. Two plays later Aledo had a 7-0 lead.

It was 14-0 after the first quarter. A couple of passing touchdowns allowed the Bearcats to stretch the lead to 27-0 at the half.

The Bearcats added a TD seconds into the second half with a 60-yard kick return to start the half.

B Game

The B team defense was just a stiffling and also came up with turnovers.

The Bearcats led 8-0 after one quarter and 24-0 at halftime.

More details will be added to this story once we have rosters of the teams so we can ID players to go with the play-by-play notes we have from the game.
