Ladycats Beat Weatherford in 5 Sets

Aledo got a big block from Audrey Pearce and several kills down the stretch from Daleigh Ellison in the fifth set of the Ladycats 25-19, 24-26, 25-16, 21-25, 15-13 victory Tuesday at Weatherford High School.

Aledo got off to a good start in the fifth set thanks to three straight service errors from Weatherford. The Ladycats opened a 7-4 lead and extended it to 10-5 before Weatherford rallied back.

Pearce’s big block made it 9-4 in the fifth set.

Weatherford cut the deficit to 11-9 but could never get even.

Ellison had several kills as Aledo then pushed the lead to 14-10.

Aledo improves to 14-12 with the victory.

The Ladycats play at Southlake Carroll Friday before hosting Midlothian next Tuesday.
