Ladycats get extra point in 3-2 shootout against Rider

Goalie Emma Davis had two saves in the shootout as the Aledo Ladycat soccer team got a 3-2 shootout win after a scoreless regulation as to get the extra point against Wichita Falls Rider Wednesday at Bearcat Stadium.

Davis also had a diving save with 18 minutes left in regulation to keep the game scoreless.

Arwen Wise, Grace Ornelas and Ashlyn Laughley scored penalty kick goals for Aledo in the shootout.

Laughley, who sat out the second half of regulation after running into the Rider goalie in the first half of the game, was awarded a second chance on her penalty kick and she knocked it home.

The win keeps the Ladycats in first place in the district race at 2-0-1, while Rider falls to (11-4-3, 1-0-1).
