Ladycats Open District With Shutout

The Ladycats got goals from four different players as they opened District 4-5A play with a 4-0 home victory over Abilene Wylie Tuesday.

Aledo got goals from Grace Ornelas, Brooke Jones, Arwen Wise and Reese Warren.

Ornelas opened the scoring at the 26:38 mark of the opening half on an assist from Megan Crawford. Jones made it 2-0 late in the first half with her goal at 5:09 with an assist from Warren.

Wise scored at 14:52 of the second half when her shot went through the goalie to make it 3-0.

Warren finished the scoring at 4:25.

The Ladycats peppered the Wylie goalie with shots from the very beginning. Aledo dominated ball possession throughout the contest.

The Ladycats will travel to Wichita Fall High School Friday for another district game.
