JV Orange 47, Midlothian 6

Matt Tague ran for three touchdowns and had a TD reception to lead the Aledo JV Orange to a 47-6 victory over Midlothian Thursday at Bearcat Stadium.

The Bearcats also had a 65-yard punt return for a TD from Jaedon Pellegrino and a 71-yard fumble return for a TD by Caden Anderson. Elijah Valencia also had a TD run for the Bearcats.

Despite the lopsided score, Aledo fell behind 6-0 when Midlothian drove 75-yards on nine plays to open the game.

However, it only took Tague two plays to get the Bearcats the lead.

After a short kickoff, Tague took the first handoff 22 yards, then finished the two-play drive with a 27-yard TD run. Tague finished the night with 14 carries for 154 yards.

Pellegrino then had has punt return and Anderson added the fumble return to give the Bearcats a 21-6 lead with 2:55 left in the first half.

The Bearcat defense then forced a three-and-out and Aledo got the ball back at the Midlothian 47 with 1:24 left in the half. Quarterback Gatlin Johnson threw a screen pass to Tague, who rumbled 47 yards for the TD.

Tague added his third TD on a 2-yard run in the third quarter. The high snap bounced off the quarterback’s hands directly to Tague, who found a big hole up the middle to score on fourth down.

Tague’s last TD came on a 25-yard run in the fourth quarter, then Valencia’s 4-yard TD closed out the scoring.
