Aledo JV Black quarterback Audie Isbell threw a pair of long TD passes to Braden Mendez to lead the Bearcats to a 21-0 victory over Trinity Thursday night at Bearcat Stadium.
The pair hooked up for a 30-yard TD play just 39 seconds before halftime to make it 14-0 Aledo.
Early in the fourth quarter Aledo’s Chandler Ramsey intercepted a Trinity pass to stop a drive at the Trinity 33. Two plays later, Isbell threw a 65-yard TD pass to Mendez. That pass went about 30 yards in the air and was tipped by a Trinity defender before Mendez caught the ball and raced into the endzone.
After Aledo’s Dylan Martin recovered a fumble on the kick return, Aledo was able to run out the clock. The JV Black team improved to 3-1 with the victory and will play at Grapevine next Thursday.
