Home Runs Lift Ladycats Over Wylie, 3-1

The Aledo Ladycats got a pair of home runs from Marissa Powell and Presley Hull, while pitcher Brenlee Gonzales scatter 4 hits over seven innings to get the 3-1 win over Abilene Wylie Thursday afternoon.

Hull’s two-run homer in the bottom of the second came after Madysen Boutwell had doubled.

Powell’s home run cam in the bottom of the third to give Aledo a 3-0 lead.

Gonzales struck out 7 and had a double in the game. All four of Aledo’s hits were for extra bases.

Aledo was scheduled to open district play against Brewer Friday evening, but because of the weather forecast, the home game will be played at 2 p.m. Saturday.
