Grace Prep scored on consecutive possessions in the second half of Friday’s scrimmage to earn a 14-0 victory over Trinity Christian Academy.
The Eagles kept the game close by coming up with a pair of turnovers, an interception in the end zone and a fumble recovery.
The teams played two halves, each with a 40-minute running clock. The Eagles best chance to score came at the end of the first half, when TCA was stopped at the Grace Prep 6 as time expired.
Grace Prep got on the scoreboard with 26:04 left in the second half to make it 7-0. On their next possession, the Grace Prep quarterback scrambled around the right end for a 17-yard TD.
The Eagles open the regular season at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Peaster High School.
