Quarterback Brent Tubbs ran for one touchdown and threw for another as the Freshman Black football team opened the season with a 12-0 victory over Denton Guyer.
Tubbs hit Bryce McCain with a 5-yard TD pass with 3:20 left in the first half.
Tubbs then scrambled for a 25-yard TD run with 7:09 left in the game to make it 12-0.
The strong Aledo defense did not allow Guyer to get a first down for the entire game.
The freshman white time gave up fell to Guyer, 28-8.
After the teams battled to a 0-0 tie at halftime, Guyer scored the first 20 points.
Quarterback Maxwell Toth scored Aledo’s lone touchdown when he scooped up a low snap then raced around the left end for a 63-yard TD. Running back Ryan Morton added the PAT run for the Bearcats.
