With the start of football season this week, here at AledoPix we have been gearing up for the past month.
By gearing up, we mean getting some new gear we can use to get the best photos of the Aledo varsity, JV, freshmen and middle school football games.
And when I get a little spare time I will shoot some volleyball too.
The photo above is the gear we plan to bring to the varsity football games. It includes a Canon 1Dx with the Sigma 120-300 f2.8 lens; Nikon D500 with Sigma 120-300 f2.8 sport lens; Canon 7D with Canon 70-200 f2.8L lens and Canon 5D with Canon 24-105 f4L lens.
What’s new this year the the Nikon d500 and Sigma 120-300 f2.8 sport lens for Nikon. Hopefully, we’ll be able to have three people at the Aledo home games, two for photos and one to capture video highlights.

We charge less than one third of what the national MaxPreps chain charges for large digital downloads.
The AledoPix web site game stories and photos are a labor of love. What we make on the photos does not begin to pay for the Sigma 120-300 f2.8 lenses, even though those lenses are not used in the day-to-day operation of our photography business.
The AledoPix web site is just our company’s way of giving back to our new community. We have lived in Aledo for almost three years now and love calling the area home. However, most of our photography work is done in Dallas County.
Our company, 1st Place Pix, takes team and individual photos for school sports teams and youth leagues.
