Aledo Softball Scrimmages on New Turf Field

The Ladycats scrimmaged Waco Midway and Eaton High Schools Saturday on the team’s new turf field.

Waco Midway used a pair of home runs to win the first scrimmage 3-2. Midway got a two run homer in the first and a solo shot in the top of the 7th.

Maddie Jarvis and Kayleigh Smith had RBIs for the Ladycats.

Jarvis had a double in the bottom of the fifth to score Aledo’s first run, the Smith’s RBI single tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth.

In the second scrimmage Saturday, Aledo took a 4-3 victory over Eaton in a 4-inning scrimmage. Aledo scored three runs without the aid of a hit in the bottom of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead. However, the Eagles tied the game in the top of the fourth inning.

Aledo has several scrimmages over the next two weeks, including a home scrimmage against Joshua on Tuesday. Aledo’s first regular-season game is Feb. 15 at Decatur.

The Ladycats went to the state finals last year and have seven starters returning for the 2022 season.
