Aledo Races Past Fossil Ridge, 63-3

Aledo continued its march through the first part of its District 3-5A Division 1 schedule Thursday with a 63-3 victory Fossil Ridge. The Bearcats have outscored their first three district opponents by a combined 183-3 score.

Aledo showcased its depth Thursday in Keller.

Three running backs scored touchdowns and each of them averaged 12 or more yards per carry. Raycine Guillory Jr. led the way with 81 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Brady Powell had two touchdowns and 75 yards on only six carries and Kaden Winkfield had 48 yards and a touchdown on only four carries.

Quarterback Gavin Beard was even more productive. He threw for 199 yards and four touchdowns and needed just eight pass attempts. Six of the eight attempts were completions and three of the touchdowns went to Kaydon Finley.

Finley had four receptions for 141 yards. Finley’s TD receptions went for 36 yards, 30 yards and 63 yards.

Aledo will find out if it can continue it record winning streak of district games when it hosts Denton Ryan on Oct. 4 and Richland on Oct. 25.
