Aledo JV Orange Shuts Out Joshua, 50-0

Caleb Pope scored on three touchdown runs and quarterback Ryan Jones threw two long TD passes to lead the Bearcat JV team to a 50-0 win at home on Thursday.

The Bearcats needed just 5 offensive plays to open up a 16-0 lead four minutes into the game.

Pope opened the game with a 42-yard run. After Jones threw an 11 yard pass to Track Clarkson, Pope capped the opening drive with a 4-yard TD run.

Aledo needed just two plays on its second drive. Pope had a 16-yard run then Jones hit Tyson Timms for a 48-yard TD pass. Jones also had a 51-yard TD pass to Trace Clarkson in the second quarter. The Aledo quarterback finished his night by completing nine of 11 passes for 155 yards.

Pope added a 1-yard TD run late in the first quarter and a 2-yard TD run in the second quarter. He finished with 140 rushing yards on 10 attempts.

In the second half, Austin Keith added a 2-yard TD run and Roderick Blake broke a 70-yard TD run.

A – Austin Keith 2 run (McCoy kick) 43-0

Fourth Quarter

Blake 70 run (McCoy kick) 50-0

The JV Black team dropped a 37-14 decision to Argyle in the first game on Thursday.
