Aledo, Burleson, Cleburne top District 5-5A Division II Standings

Three weeks into the District 5-5A football schedule, two teams other than Aledo remain undefeated overall and in district play.

Aledo, Burleson and Cleburne remain at the top of District 5-5A Division II. Burleson, which has not had its open date yet, is at the top of the district with a 3-0 league record, 5-0 overall. Aledo and Cleburne are both 4-0 overall and 2-0 in District.

Cleburne has defeated Joshua 49-27 and Waco University 47-3 for their two district victories. Those two teams are winless in district play.

Burleson has three district victories because they have not had their bye week in district play yet. Burleson has district wins against Waco University (51-6),  Joshua (24-0) and Arlington Seguin (44-0). Those three teams are winless in district play.

The other two teams in District 5-5A are Burleson Centennial and Midlothian. Two two teams are both 4-1 overall and 2-1 in district.

Centennial’s lone loss is the 63-16 loss to Aledo. Midlothian’s lone loss is last Friday’s 24-7 decision to Centennial.

Aledo plays at Midlothian this week while Burleson and Centennial will play Friday.

Aledo plays Burleson on Oct. 12 and at Cleburne on Oct. 19 then ends the season at the three teams at the bottom of the district standings.
