Aldeo JV Black football team opens with 14-6 victory

The Aledo JV black football team used it running game to take a 14-6 victory over Denton Guyer Thursday to open its season.

With the game tied 6-6 late in the third quarter, the Bearcats started feeding the ball to running back Jeremiah James.

The Aledo defense had just stopped Guyer on downs with 30 seconds left in the third period.

James immediately got an Aledo drive moving when he went down the sideline for a 30-yard run. James had six strait carries to open the drive. He followed the 30-yard run with runs of 15, 6, 11, 6 and 6 yards. His last carry game Aledo a 1st and goal at the Guyer 2. With everyone looking for James to get another carry, the Bearcats gave the ball to Chandler Ramsey, who went untouched for a 2-yard TD. Ramsey also had a run for the two-point conversion to give the Bearcats a 14-6 lead with 7:31 left in the game.

The Aledo defense then forced Guyer to turn the ball over on downs twice in the final 4:34 of the game.
