The Brock Lady Eagle volleyball team opened the season with a 3-1 victory over Holiday Tuesday as the fall sports season opened for the UIL’s smaller schools.
Brock earned the 25-22, 25-20, 20-25, 25-22 victory as the smaller schools showed Texas that high school sports can help people feel like things are getting back to normal.
Brock jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the second game, but Holliday rallied to eventually tie the game at 19-19. However, the Lady Eagles ripped off a 6-1 run to close out the game.
After Holiday won the third game to make it 2-1 Brock, the fourth game was tight throughout. Brock led 22-21 when a kill by Alykx Vlahopoulos make it 23-21. Annissa Moreno followed with a kill for the Lady Eagle to make it 24-21 and an unforced error on a hit out of bounds by Holliday ended the match.
